Yesterday Kelso turned 5. Its amazing how time flies when you are having fun! Well, most of the time. Kelso pretty much had a birthday week end. Party at school on Friday, Party at the park on Saturday, Sunday was a usual Sunday – HIS DAY. And then yesterday I took him out of school for the day and we went for breakfast.
In the afternoon, he and his friend played like no one was watching. Although I was, through my looking glass. I marvel at how awesome it is to just be. To just play and love someone’s company with no hang ups. These boys fight. They “tell on” when one does something the other disagrees with, but soon after, they are best friends, blissfully laughing at how the can make bubbles look like toes. If only we could be more like them, the world would be a much better place.
All that aside though. We think kids want lavish parties for their birthday’s, but they just want to have fun with their friends. Here are some shots I got of the 2 boys playing with bubbles, loving every minute. Reminding me that simplicity is the way forward.
