Today I welcome in the new week with a new episode of “Through my looking Glass”. What a week end. From the sweet scents of pancakes and shortbread, to a ramble through the bush. The Bush Ramble is a story all on its own though and that will follow when I can think of something other than some insane shoulder sunburn.
This week’s episode took us to the Neighbourhood Good Market in Juta Street in Braamfontein. It opened mid-September and I have been dying to go there. Papachino’s on a Saturday is nice, but gets a bit much when it’s every week end. This time we figured Kelso could do what we wanted to do for a change.
What an amazing little market of all things tasty and organic. The concept behind the market is flipping awesome and I think it is one to be supported. The vibe is what every doctor should order and the roasted olives I bought are life changing.
We didn’t stay too long, we had pancakes for breakfast, took a quick stroll around and left before Kelso’s nap time. I had a pancake with sweet potato, beetroot, feta, pumpkin seeds and Balsamic Glace – sounds a bit hectic, but don’t knock it till you try it, TO… DIE… FOR.
We then went and had some coffee at Velo. An awesome little place that has some of the nicest photography hanging on their wall. If you in the area, (Cnr Juta and Melle St. Braamfontein) go check it out and have a Latte, they are DIVINE!
Kelso was on a mission for a toy. For some reason he thought we were going to the market to buy one. Because he was such a good boy and close to nap time, we drank up and went on our toy search and then went home to fall on the couch!
A lovely day out with my awesome little family. Yayness to the awesomeness that is us!
My wish is that this coming week serves everyone the finest juju with a generous helping of love and happiness.
